Humans are driven by predictions, by the desire of knowing what will happen in the next few years and how it will affect their lives. So, learn about digital transformation!

The year 2022 is already starting with turmoil: the new variant Omicron, a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine that could skyrocket the price of oil, and the restrictions on raw materials that have emerged in the last two years of the pandemic – and that are worsening with this variant forcing work to be on stand-by for many, for a collective good.

It’s like I said in the previous newsletter: life is not about how much you can hit, but how much you can catch and keep hitting, so that a well-placed hit will allow you to succeed.

Therefore, it is very important to know the signs of possible trends for the coming years. They might occur, but you need to be prepared and, being well-informed is essential.

Trends in digital transformation – What are they?

So, I try to stay informed. Today, reading two articles by professionals I follow, Carlos Boechat and Nelson Silveira, I came across these trends for the coming years:

  1. Purpose – nowadays essential companies have a genuine purpose for the future of the planet;
  2. Customer – he must be the center of the business and its engagement. The brand depends on your experience with it and its product;
  3. Storytelling and Storydoing – it’s not enough to just have a good story to tell, it needs to be authentic, connected to the brand’s culture and purpose;
  4. Equity, diversity and inclusion – fundamental points that add value to the business.

Technology that can facilitate and accelerate these processes

However, you need to practice all the time. Added to these management trends that companies need to know, there is technology that can facilitate and accelerate these processes:

  1. Artificial intelligence and machine learning – machine learning through intelligent algorithms created by humans creates opportunities for massive analytical treatment of data, which results in information that can accelerate the decision-making process in companies. The evolution of this technology in the coming years will be the biggest facilitator of the day to day, turning complex processes into simple and quick actions;
  2. The new 5G network – with this new communication technology it will be possible to connect one million devices per km2. So, it will be easy and fast to connect things to machines, things to things, things to software, things to people, and all that together and mixed up, as they say. Cloud computing, remote maintenance, managing field teams, collecting logistics data and operational parameters will make it much more effective and accessible;
  3. Cloudcomputing – the world today is already experiencing the use of software and applications in the Software as a Servisse (SAAS) model or, in very clear Portuguese, we rent systems to facilitate our daily lives. As a Manusis4 customer says, the biggest desire of companies is what we could call Total Solution as a Service (TSaaS) – a combination of software and hardware;
  4. Internet das Coisas (IoT) ou Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) – outra tendência para o futuro, hoje com foco na democratização do uso de hardwares e investimento massivo no tratamento de dados;
  5. Big data – the need to handle data is growing. The focus on augmented intelligence, on the collection and proper handling of data, will allow companies to make increasingly intelligent decisions;
  6. Augmented and virtual realities – still in experimentation mode, they are already present in our daily lives in some sectors. It is the big bet for the industry, taking knowledge to the field in a matter of seconds, or allow prototyping and simulations in virtual environments of operation and maintenance;
  7. Cybersecurity – see that all the above points take sensitive information to the virtual world and, so the investment in data protection will be increasingly evident.

Well, my dear reader, fasten your seat belt, because the roller coaster of the next few years will be with a lot of adventure!

Best regards!
